We are looking for an experienced and proactive Data Protection Officer (DPO) to lead and oversee our data protection compliance framework across the Group.

Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the designated Data Protection Officer under UK GDPR, EU GDPR and applicable local legislation.
- Advise management and employees on data protection obligations and best practices.
- Monitor compliance with privacy laws, internal policies and data protection procedures.
- Lead and support Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
- Oversee Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Coordinate responses to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and privacy-related enquiries.
- Act as the primary contact point for supervisory authorities and data subjects.
- Support the investigation, assessment and reporting of personal data breaches.
- Review supplier and processor compliance, including Data Processing Agreements.
- Deliver privacy awareness training and promote a strong data protection culture across the organisation.
- Provide regular compliance and risk reports to senior management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a Data Protection Officer, Privacy Officer, Compliance or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, EU GDPR and practical data protection compliance.
- Experience working with sensitive personal data, preferably within healthcare or other regulated environments.
- Understanding of DPIAs, DSARs, breach management and privacy governance.
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and provide objective advice to senior management.
- Fluent English (written and spoken).
- Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP/E, CIPM, CDPO or equivalent privacy certification.
- Experience within healthcare, dental, medical or clinical environments.
- Knowledge of UK healthcare data protection requirements.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001 and information governance principles.
